Four Steps of Experiencing Moutai:

1
The first step is to look at the wine. Lift the wine glass to eyebrow height and observe the body of the wine. Moutai has a clear and transparent body with a slightly yellow colour. This is due to its pure grain raw materials, unique brewing process and long storage life. In the visual tasting of Moutai, lustre is the embodiment of transparency.
2
The second step is to smell the wine. The aroma of Moutai is multi-layered, divided into front aroma, body aroma and empty cup aroma. Hold the mouth of the cup 1-2 cm away from the tip of your nose and gently smell the aroma. Inhale naturally without exhaling the wine. At this time, you will feel the first aroma of the wine. It is a compound aroma unique to the flavour substances metabolised by the special microorganisms from the Chishui River. Put the wine glass under your nose, and smell deeply to feel the body aroma of the wine. It is an elegant body aroma formed by the combination of fruity, floral, nutty, totaling over 155 aromatics. The fragrance retention in the empty cup is also a major feature of Moutai that distinguishes it from other wines.
3
The third step is to taste the intense profile of the wine. Bring the wine glass to your lips, take a slow sip, and feel the movement of the wine. Coat the surface of the tongue with the wine, and there will immediately be a sense of acidity on both sides of the tongue. At the same time, you can feel the nutty, koji, floral and aged aromatics released by the wine. After the wine is completely swallowed, close your mouth naturally and let the wine odour rise through the mouth and nose, allowing your breath to blend with it. The aroma will gradually weaken while the comfort lasts. The wine will have a long aftertaste and a refreshing aroma.
4
The final step is to observe the overall style. Moutai makes you drunk slowly and is gentle on the enthusiastic drinker. Which is what makes it such a popular wine of choice at the dinner table. The beauty of Moutai is that you will not experience dry mouth, get drunk quickly, or have a hangover after drinking due to the organic and pure ingredients. Overall, it gives drinkers a wonderful feeling of contentment, freshness, comfort, and happiness.
